 Clothing Tag Notes

During June of 1996, Ty Inc., formally introduced clothing to the Attic Treasures Collection™ line.   Not only did Ty  Inc., begin producing attics with clothing at the factory, but a decision was made to ship clothing to the warehouse to dress much of the remaining inventory.  Some of the attics were dressed at the warehouse, while some were shipped with separate clothing to Ty accounts to be dressed in the retail shops.

There are Federal Trade Commission Rules and Regulations governing the production of textile products.  Every textile product must have a label securely affixed which discloses the country of origin,  the fiber content and other relative information.  Both stuffed toys and clothing are subject to  these rules.

When Ty Inc., started producing attics with clothing in the factory sometime during the fifth generation, only one textile label, or tush tag was required to be affixed to the product. The tush tags were attached directly to the attic itself.  When Ty Inc., decided to begin shipping clothing to the warehouse to dress the remaining inventory, the clothing itself required the textile label.  Most of the attics in the warehouse at that point were fourth generation or earlier attics.  For this reason, almost all first through fourth generation attics with clothing should have a clothing tag.  Fifth generation clothed Attic Treasures™ can be found with and without the clothing tag.  It is more common to find the clothing tag on the larger fifth generation attics than the smaller ones. To the best of our knowledge there is no known sixth or seventh generation clothed attics that have clothing tags.
